About Me

About Me

Hello, beautiful souls.
I’m Maya Daniel.

I’m a writer, a storyteller, and someone who has learned to turn lived experience into language that feels seen.

My journey began in Angola and continued in Berlin, where I grew up learning how identity, belonging, and visibility shape the way we move through the world. These experiences didn’t just form me—they taught me how to observe, to feel deeply, and to translate those feelings into words.

I write about what often goes unspoken:
self-worth, shame, love, identity, and the quiet courage it takes to choose yourself again and again.

Language is one of my homes.
I speak German and English fluently, and I also understand Lingala and Portuguese—each one carrying a different part of my story.

Writing has never been just a passion for me.
It’s where I make sense of the world.
It’s where I turn pain into clarity, and questions into something that can be held.

Beyond writing, I find grounding in movement, in stillness, and in the small rituals that remind me I’m here. Fully.

I’m drawn to stories that stay with you—the kind that don’t just entertain, but shift something inside you. That’s the same intention I bring to everything I create.

This space is more than a website.
It’s an invitation.

To feel.
To reflect.
To recognize yourself in places you didn’t expect.

And maybe, to remember something important:

You are not too much.
You were never not enough.

My Vision

Our vision is to empower and inspire black women by sharing authentic life stories and experiences, highlighting the unique challenges and triumphs of navigating life as a black woman in a diverse world. We strive to create a transparent platform that fosters connection and understanding, showcasing personal growth, resilience, and the journey of self-discovery. By sharing our narratives, ranging from relationships to personal struggles, we aim to serve as role models for the younger generation, demonstrating that it is possible to forge one’s own path, even in the face of traditional expectations. We believe that by embracing our stories, we can foster empathy and reduce judgment, reminding everyone that we are all humans, each with our own battles to fight. Ultimately, we aim to touch lives, provide solace, and guide others through their journeys, ensuring that no one feels alone in their struggles.
